Description
Ingredients
Granny Smith apples
Crescent dough
Butter
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
Pure vanilla extract
Kosher salt
Lemon-lime soda
Recipe
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a large baking dish with butter. Peel and core the apples, then cut each apple into eighths.
Step 2: Separate the crescent dough into triangles. Starting at the wider end, roll one apple slice up in a crescent triangle. Repeat this process with the remaining apple slices and crescents. Place the rolled dumplings into the prepared pan.
Step 3: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt together. Once melted and well combined, pour the mixture over the apples in the baking dish.
Step 4: Pour soda around the edge of the pan, being careful to avoid pouring directly on top of the dumplings.
Step 5: Bake the dumplings until they turn golden brown, approximately 30 minutes.
Step 6: Serve the apple dumplings warm, accompanied by ice cream. Spoon the sauce from the pan over the dumplings for added flavor.
