Ingredients
For Potato Dumplings:
750g potatoes (about 2 large ones)
2 cups flour
Salt
For Cabbage and Noodles:
1/2 head of cabbage
chopped
1 onion
chopped
4-6 slices of bacon or 1/2 pound of pork
diced
1 pound of egg noodles or potato dumplings
Salt and pepper to taste
For Bryndzové Halušky:
1 medium potato (180-200gms)
preferably Russet
⅔ to ¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Bryndza cheese
4-6 slices of bacon or 1/2 pound of pork
diced
Salt and pepper to taste

Dumplings with Sautéed Veggies and Bacon:
Make the Dumpling Dough:
Step 1: In a large bowl, add flour, salt, and create a small well in the center.
Step 2: Add eggs, water, and melted butter into the well.
Step 3: Use a fork to incorporate the wet ingredients into the flour to create the dough until you get a smooth texture.
Shape & Boil the Dumplings:
Step 1: On a floured surface, separate the dough into eight pieces.
Step 2: Roll each piece into a long string and dice it into small pieces.
Step 3: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the raw dumplings into the water, cooking until they float to the top.
Sauté the Veggies & Bacon:
Step 1: In a large skillet preheated with butter, sauté the mushrooms until lightly browned.
Step 2: Add the onions into the skillet and cook until translucent.
Step 3: Season the veggies with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Stir in bacon pieces and cook for 5 more minutes.
Pan-Fry the Dumplings:
Step 1: In a non-stick skillet, add the boiled dumplings, veggies, and bacon.
Step 2: Pan-fry the dumplings until they turn golden brown.
