Kudumulu are steamed rice balls made of rice flour or rava. There are two different versions of making these - sweet and savory (salted). They are mildly spiced rice and lentil dumplings that make for a delicious breakfast or a snack between meals.

Ingredients
1 Cup Rice Rawa
1/4 Cup Chana Dal
2 Teaspoons Cumin Seeds
1 Tablespoon Ghee - Check for homemade version here
1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt - Or to taste
1.5 Cups Filtered water
Recipe
Step 1: Heat ghee in a pan, then add cumin seeds and chana dal.
Step 2: Once the cumin seeds start crackling, add rice rawa and stir until it is very lightly browned.
Step 3: Add water and salt. Mix well and cook for 7 to 9 minutes, ensuring all water evaporates and no lumps remain. Transfer the mixture to a large plate and allow it to cool.
Step 4: Take small portions into your palm and make round balls. Serve with Fresh Coconut Tomato Chutney
